!±8± The Priority List For Buying Small Kitchen Appliances

In the process of setting up a kitchen the shopping list is endless. A lot of course depends on the eating habits of the family, whether they prefer eating out or like cooking at home for more nourishing, wholesome and economical meals. The shopping list inevitably includes crockery, cutlery, cooking pans and serving bowls, large kitchen appliances and gadgets like the cooking range or gas hob, refrigerator, dishwasher and so on. These are rated as essentials. Next in line comes the range of small kitchen appliances which includes some indispensable appliances and many which serve specific functions and may not be used every day or every week. Budget constraints also make it necessary that we buy some now and some later since the expense list is too long. How then does one decide which small kitchen appliance to buy first?

Deciding on the Most Important Small Kitchen Appliances

The task of deciding which appliances to buy first is not easy, especially when a visit to stores selling them shows aisle after aisle of different kinds of small kitchen appliances with multiple brands and models of each. With a clear picture of the budget allocated for buying them, the following can be bought step by step.

Microwave Oven-If after all the large appliances have been ordered for the kitchen, a single appliance has to be purchased, then the microwave must be the first. This is because it makes life easier to a much greater extent than all other appliances. It can perform multiple tasks and even substitute for other appliances. Not only does it cook, bake, steam, heat and defrost, but if you do not possess a blender, you can place your vegetable or fruit in the microwave for a couple of minutes to soften, and then mash it with a fork. It can make instant coffee or tea to substitute for the coffee maker and electric kettle, steam rice to replace the rice cooker and so on. Blender- The second most important thing needed in the kitchen is a blender, since this hastens the speed of cooking by pureeing, blending, mixing and even chopping-all essential pre-cooking preparation processes which take a lot more time manually, but never more than a minute or two in the blender. Coffee Maker-Most people do not like instant coffee and if you enjoy your freshly roasted brew, then the next small kitchen appliance is definitely a coffee maker. Mini chopper or food processor- Out of these, the choice will be determined by the size of the family, since food processors are bigger and are useful for larger quantities, while a mini chopper is sufficient for a couple. Toaster Oven-This is a great small kitchen appliance since it bakes, roasts, grills and toasts, and since it is small, it heats up quickly and is fast in every function. Once all these small kitchen appliances have established a functional, efficient kitchen the next in line could be all or some of the appliances seen in the market like, rice cooker, kettle, hand mixer, can opener, egg boiler, bread cutter, electric grill and so on.
